  • Charity ‘Flying’ Visit

    With the Summer Holidays long forgotten, it was back to business as usual for Emanuel. He did one of his ‘flying’ visits to the Principality, this time for the charity Oxfam. This was part of a National campaign organized by Oxfam in conjunction with Marks & Spencer, namely ‘One Day Wardrobe Clearout’.
    With the aim to raise £1 million for Oxfam and help reduce the amount of clothing sent to landfill. The initiative
    is part of M&S’ involvement in HRH Prince of Wales’ START campaign, designed to help consumers make a start in leading a more sustainable lifestyle.

    It was an early start for Emanuel, arriving at the M&S Store @ Culverhouse Cross / Cardiff well before 9:00am!….
    He was met by the Store manager, Mr Mark Reed & PR representative Ms Claire Beesley. Much to his surprise, the Welsh M&S shoppers were very keen, as many of them had already showed up with bagfuls of clothes to donate. After a few hours of meeting & chatting with customers and doing Press photographs,Mr Reed thanked Emanuel, with everyone agreeing it was a very successful morning.

    Before leaving Wales, Emanuel managed to fit in a ‘lightening’ visit to the Bonmarche’ flagship store in Cardiff, to view the arrival of his new Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection. He also managed to buy a few pieces from his Collection, to give as ‘presents’ to his American friends when he visits in early October. Then it was back to London!…

  • HONORARY FELLOWSHIP for EMANUEL

    Emanuel was back in Wales’s Capital, Cardiff to receive The Award of Honorary Fellowship from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff. ( Cardiff’s Metropolitan University ) The Award Ceremony was held @ the Wales Millennium Centre on July 7th 2010 and was introduced & citation given by Professor Keireine Canavan. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor A J Chapman formally congratulated Emanuel while presenting him with his scroll.

    Among other things, Emanuel told the capacity packed audience that he “felt very honoured & deeply touched”…

    After the ceremony, back-stage he was overheard saying, “ it was very emotional, very moving particularly from one’s own country!”…

  • Worldwide press attention for Passion for Fashion Auction

    Emanuel, yet again achieved world – wide press attention at their recent Passion For Fashion Auction, which predominately sold The Emanuel Archive of Royal Dress and related material. It grabbed Press headlines & Television coverage from across the globe!…

    The auction was conducted by Kerry Taylor Auctions in association with Sotheby’s.The total amount the Emanuel Collection was sold for : £282,720 ( Sterling ) Lady Diana’s famous ‘The Black Dress’ in silk taffeta went under the hammer for: £192,000:00, bought by a Museum in Santiago, Chile. Diana’s pink silk chiffon ‘engagement blouse for : £26,400:00, bought by a Museum in County Kildare, Ireland as was The Princess of Wales’s Wedding Gown toile’ for : £20,400:00 to mention but a few…
