    Emanuel had the honour to obey Her Majesty’s command to attend this reception at Buckingham Palace. He was greeted by Mr David Pogson MVO, Senior Press Officer at the Palace, before being formally introduced to both HM The Queen & The Duke of Edinburgh. Emanuel also had the opportunity to further talk to The Queen, with much Royal chat & interest shown by her Ladies-in-Waiting regarding his ‘association with Bonmarche’ !!

    During the reception, he also spoke at length with HRH Princess Michael of Kent ( his first ‘Royal’ Couture Client ) Emanuel’s son Oliver & Lord Frederick Windsor attended Wetherby’s School together in London. He also spoke & consoled with Lady Elizabeth Anson ( sister of the late Lord Patrick Litchfield / Royal Photographer, who worked on Emanuel’s first book, ‘Style For All Seasons’.

    Emanuel also managed to catch-up with designers Jasper Conran, Julien McDonald & hatter Stephen Jones. He also reminisced with 60’s fashion icon & client Twiggy, as well as Mrs Sidney Burstein, owner of Browns ( Emanuel’s first fashion stockist ) Royal Milliner, Mr Philip Somerville & Ms Anne Tyrell, senior lecturer @ The Royal College of Art ( Emanuel’s old College )… to name but a few…

    Although much of Emanuel’s work has been photographed / written about, and included in many Fashion & Historical Books…

    Emanuel is delighted to be included in the Design Museum Book ‘FIFTY DRESSES THAT CHANGED THE WORLD’

    Published by Conran / Octopus. It features the Princess of Wales’s Wedding Dress, he co-designed with Elizabeth Emanuel in 1981, when she married HRH Prince Charles. The colour photograph shows them both waving to the crowds, on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral.
